We're open all year round and easily accessible from Tallinn (1,5 hours). Group rates and tailored itineraries are available.

Our season begins in March when the lynx becomes active, and continues in April with the arrival of migratory birds and lasts until October, when the flocks move on. In the summer months, nature enthusiasts can marvel at wild orchids in bloom. September brings the cranes together in great flocks, hundreds or even thousands of birds on a single field, feeding before the long journey south. Watch a video of them on our social media.

Beyond birds, Matsalu is also home to many fascinating mammals, including lynx and elk. Wake to the sound of warblers in the reeds, spot sea eagles from our garden, and rest in individually designed rooms filled with local character.
